The Covid-19 epidemic has undoubtedly changed many things about our daily lives. Safety measures that are in place to protect us, may also put a damper on summer vacation plans. That is why are are excited to share some creative “staycation” ideas for you and your family this summer.

 

Make life-long memories with these fun summer staycation ideas:

 

 

1. Take an Online Cooking Class

If you are looking for some culinary exploration and inspiration, consider taking an online cooking class. Many professional chefs are hosting live cooking classes online and on social media.

Creative expression is a fantastic way to let your mind wander and discover. Add a day of sketching, painting, or sculpting to your summer staycation. Explore your song writing or poetry skills. You could even get your family involved in putting on a play or talent show.

You might be surprised at the ways that creative play can help you. Scientist have studied the enhanced memory skills of people who doodle. Playing music or singing releases endorphins that can actually make you feel more happy in minutes. Even doing some photography may help you recharge by gaining a different perspective. Consider taking a course in business or marketing to help you with your career. Study more about history or science. You can also learn more about the arts and culture.

6. Explore Nature

Maintaining social distance can be much easier in nature where there is room to explore. Take a day trip to a local lake or state park. Do your best to maintain social distance from other people.

Bike, Swim, Fish, Hike, or just soak in the beauty of nature. There are many benefits of connecting to nature. This could be an excellent way to spend a day or two of your staycation.

 

 

7. Create a Vision Board

Planning a staycation probably isn’t what we expected to be doing this summer. However, this may be the perfect time to pause and make a plan for future goals. Perhaps you could take a break to plan for the next life, career, and health steps you want to make happen.
